Design2Sell's Spring Maintenance Checklist

Depending on your location the changes of seasons can really do a number on your home. It can be worse for others but for those who don't experience that drastic of a change it is always good to use the seasonal change as a cue to give your home a check up. We have devised a maintenance checklist to get you ready for the spring.

Roof And Gutters
- Check for any loose, damaged or missing shingles and be sure to clean out your gutters to prevent any flooding from May showers.
Air Conditioning
- Check your system and replace your filter with a new one.
Windows
- You may need to scrub down those windows to give your home more of a curb appeal. Pressure washers tend to give the best results.
Patio and Deck
- Inspect your deck and patio for any damage and reseal if need be. Clean up and get ready for some out door fun.
Garden
- Prepare your soil beds for new growth.
Thorough Cleaning
- It's time for Spring cleaning. Clean out your attic and basements and store away your winter clothes and tools.

The Next Cool Event is one of the most anticipated events in Atlanta for the Film and TV production industry. The event consists of two days, friday, the exclusive reunion and saterday the VIP gala. Friday night’s exculsive reunion event will kick off the weekend festivities with music, food and drinks. It is this event in which Design2Sell owner, Barbara Heil-Sonneck and "Sweet Home Alabama" creative team will unveil their exhibit. The exhibit is inspired by the fun and romantic movie Sweet Home Alabama starring the lovely Reese Witherspoon. At this event, the public will witness warm country design seamlessly blended with modern décor to create an unforgettable environment at an unforgettable event.

Design2Sell attends High Point Market and meets Libby Langdon

Design2Sell’s Barbara Heil-Sonneck had the pleasure of meeting and greating New York based designer Libby Langdon, while visiting North Carolina's High Point Market. Libby is a designer, author and makeover television personality for shows such as NBC’s LXTV Open House, Takeeover with Libby Langdon and has been a special guest on popular shows including The View, The Rachael Ray Show, BetterTV, Design Invasion, The Early Show, and HGTV’s Small Space, Big Style.

Barbara was fortunate enough to preview the launch of Langdon's everyday and elegant new upholstery collection for Braxton Culler. To learn more about this collection visit Libby's website here.

Design2Sell at High Point Market Spring 2013: Latest Trends Update

Design2Sell’s Barbara Heil-Sonneck had the pleasure of attending this springs High Point Market in North Carolina. High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world. The event is held every six months with thousands of attendees coming to view and buy the latest products in the industry. Barbara, along with another design2sell interior designer Lisa Uihlein, explored the market and got a glimpse at some of the upcoming trends. Interior designer, Lisa Uihlein, gave us a run down of the latest trends at the market..

"As far as trends go, we saw a lot of animal skin, wooden vases, industrial edge furniture, shimmering pastels, lots of bright colors...purple, turquoise yellow, bronze, copper and gold touches on lacquered furniture. Very elegant stylings on chairs and sofa's some with sexy legs and high backs to short stout tufted club chairs... they swivel too if you want ... tons of benches and poufs, Greek key prints, glass tops and brightly colored rugs... the opposite attraction of rough distressed wooden objects mixed with classic simple timeless shapes will be the perfect eclectic blend... not to mention the added wow factor."

Creating Happiness in Moving

Design2Sell knows moving can be very stressful. One might say it could be one of the most difficult things you will ever do. From beginning to end it can wear you down physically, financially and emotionally. We would like to help with that. Here are a few tips that can make the process a little less stressful and make you a little bit happier...

- Nestle in the Right Neighborhood.

Determining where you will live is one of the most important determinants of your happiness. Depending on your interest make sure to pick a location that could cater to some of your hobbies. Look for neighborhoods with sidewalks, parks nearby or meeting places that promote social interaction so when you need a break from all the house stuff there is someplace or something you can do to retreat.

- Indulge in Good Smells.

We don't have the sense of smell for nothing. Reveling in scent of even the simplest of things like fresh laundry or scented candles can stimulate you and boost your happiness.

- Create a Happy Place.

This can be done bycreating a space where you can enjoy your favorite hobby or decorate with memorabilia of your accomplishments, favorite people, places or things. Maybe add some living plants and try to pick a location that is well lit which is also a mood booster.

- Ask for Help.

Throw a packing or unpacking get together. This can be a chance for you to spend time with the people you care about and making a stressful process a fun one.

Home Staging in Phoenix, Arizona!

Design2Sell’s marketing assistant, Kristine, recently travelled to Phoenix, Arizona, and had the privilege of viewing some of the model homes in the Pebble Creek active adult community. This beautiful community is nestled at the base of the Estrella Mountains in the town of Goodyear, Arizona about twenty minutes away from Phoenix. With its glorious views and warm climate it makes for the perfect place to be during the winter months.
